Keith Ingram · Camera Operator

Camera operator for hire in Glasgow.

Operating for productions that already have their own DoP — single or multi-camera, drama, commercials, live and studio. Steady, fast, easy on set, and flexible on rate against a DoP day. Glasgow-based, working across Scotland, the UK and worldwide.

Approach

A safe pair of hands on the floor.

Sometimes you don't need a DoP — you need a reliable operator who frames cleanly, holds it steady, and keeps pace with the day. That's a role I've played for nearly 30 years, on everything from multi-camera studio to fast-moving location drama.

I read a director quickly, anticipate the next setup, and stay calm when the schedule tightens. Because I also light and shoot as a DoP, I understand what the DoP and director are reaching for — so I operate in service of their vision, not my own.

Rate is straightforward: an operating day sits below my DoP rate, said plainly up front. Bring me onto your camera package, or I can supply my own bodies, lenses and support.

Single & multi-camera

Studio, live and location — comfortable on a 4+ camera multicam line or solo on a long lens.

02

Own kit if needed

03

DoP’s-eye operating

I light and shoot too, so I anticipate the frame the DoP and director want.

04

Flexible day rate

An operating day is priced below my DoP rate — stated clearly, no games.

Questions producers ask

Honest answers, no hard sell.

Do you operate for productions that already have a DoP?

+

Yes. Operating is a distinct service from my DoP work. When a production already has its own Director of Photography, I operate to their vision and the director’s — framing, movement and pace — without trying to relight or redesign the shot.

How much does a camera operator cost vs a DoP?

+

An operating day is priced below my DoP day rate, and I’ll state it plainly up front. Send dates and format to info@keithingram.co.uk or call 07712 000 605.

Do you bring your own kit or work on the production’s?

+

Either. I can supply Canon Cinema EOS bodies, cine glass, an O’Connor fluid head and a DJI Ronin gimbal — see the kit list — or operate on the production’s package.

Are you experienced with multi-camera and live?

+

Yes — multi-camera studio, live broadcast and concert capture, plus single-camera location drama and commercials. Nearly 30 years across all of it.

Where are you based and will you travel?

+

Glasgow-based, operating across Scotland, the UK and worldwide. Mobile with crew and kit in an electric Kia PV5 van.
